There's a newer firmware (3.0d) available for your burner at this page. Remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before applying the new firmware. Reboot the computer after it has finished updating.

If that doesn't solve your problem, throw that museum piece in the garbage and treat yourself to a new IDE/PATA DVD burner

You could try changing the 'Write Type' to TAO, maybe your drive is so old that it doesn't like SAO (or at least not how I'm trying to set it up).

That's what happens when the drive is ancient and doesn't comply with the MMC specs ImgBurn is built around ;)

EXCUSE ME!!! My age puts me in the category of "MUSEUM PIECE" as well..<grin> LOL!!!

Thanks for the reply. Will get the new firmware first before I join the old drive in the garbage.

Thank you.

Will go into the settings and do that.

Try just the firmware first though ;)

Oops! Too late for that. Changed the settings and got the burn.

Will still try the firmware, too.

Thanks

A good burn? A firmware update won't be a bad idea either and should increase your chances at success....good luck.
