Well blutach, after your initial reply I decided to check out new drives and decided to purchase a sata interface Samsung S203B drive. I am now sorry I waited so long to replace my LiteOn. The Samsung arrived yesterday, I plugged it in and promptly burnt two DL discs (Verbs) without any hiccups. Thanks for giving me the nudge I needed to replace my drive. MJG

I thought about the drive being the culprit but did not want to believe that would be the problem. I presume your question regarding the DMA refers to the settings for the controller? If so I just rechecked the setting and DMA is enabled on the controller. Regarding the batch of media being bad, I have had failures recently from two separate spindles of Verbatim DL media so I am inclined to think that is not the issue. Based on your overall questions I guess you did not see anything in the log which would indicate that I have ImgBurn set up incorrectly? Thanks for the response.

I have been trying to burn dual layer dvds but very little success. I occasionally get one to complete successfully but more often than not they fail along the way. I use Verbatim media, have followed the guides on this site (accurately I believe) and have set ImgBurn to the default settings but can not figure out what I am doing wrong. I successfully burned about 20 single layer media (no coasters) before attempting this dual layer project. Can someone please review the attached log and see if there are any hints as to what I am doing?
