Luckily it worked the first time, because I doubt that I'll need a dual-layer disc anytime soon. If they start making a lot of wii games that are DL, I will just buy the Verbatim pack that's larger.

The fact that different drives 'prefer' different brands of cds perplexes me.

The Verbatim DVD+R DL discs at my local Best Buy (where I am going today so I can return the Dynex discs) are up to 8x instead of 2.4x. I can still burn at 2.4x, correct? If it is bad for burning an ISO file, what's the fastest way to get some 2.4x discs? Wal-Mart only has the 8x discs as well, and I'm hesitant to order off the internet because I'm not sure how to check if they're from Singapore (I heard on another site that if not from Singapore the quality of these discs is greatly reduced).

Got it to open, updated it to A117, and now... the medium doesn't work. I guess I should get the Singapore verbatim ones instead of the cheap Dynex discs?

I did not realize I had made two topics until I noticed when I submitted the other that it told me that the moderator/admin needed to approve the topic before allowing it to be seen, and I had thought it was only an error. But I have decided that if I cant get my drive to open today I will just buy a new one that actually does something useful instead of provide a headache. I hate it.

Thank you. I'm updating now, but my piece of **** burner won't even open now, so I think I'll go to the hardware page and see what the best burner for me to to buy would be.
