I replaced the burner specifically to accomodate dual-layer discs....

This is a comparatively new burner -- just installed a few months ago....

I am using VERBATIM DVD+R DL VERBATIM DVD-R and MEMOREX DVD-RW. I have used all of these in the past with no problems.

Yes. I tried a dual-layer disc and got the same message.....

Thanks for the guuidance. The version is 9P59. I can get to the C Drive, click on the MDS version and then I get the message. I have used the program many time before but this is the first time I have gotten this message....

Bear with me: I do not understand what you mean when you ask if I can see the burner in WExplorer and which model I have. It was installed by my tech guy.... Thanks for your help

WHen I am trying to write to a DVD disc, it will not start and the message I get is "Device Not Found - No reference position found." Please explain to this new user what the message means and how I can corredt the problem Many thanks, mima

Thanks for the suggestions -- I appreciate your taking the time to reply.

If I get an error message and try to cancel the program, it will not close. If I hit "cancel" a second time, it tells me to "be patient" but after waiting. literally, hours, it still wont close. I have to re-boot my computer to make it let go. Is there something I can do? Many thanks for any help....

Thank You.... you are absolutely right. When I used a DL disc, it recorded just fine. Many thanks for the help.

While downloading file to a DVD, it stopped with the error message "Failed to reserve track" and "Invalid field in CDB." My only options were TRY AGAIN and CANCEL -- I did try again several times with no luck. Any suggestions -- Thanks for the help....

I did as you suggested (I set RETRIES to zero ) and after I clicked the CONTINUE button three times it asked if I wanted the program to automatically disregard the errors - I clicked YES and now after three hours it has accumulated ove 4000 errors and is still counting!!! ..... Is there anything I can do? Thanks for your help.

My options were "TRY AGAIN" or "CONTINUE" both of which I tried several times with no luck. I also went to settings and checked IGNORE READ NESSAGES again with no luck. Any other sugestions? Thanks very much for your help.

After 99% of the DVD is copied I get an "Uncorrectable Error" message. Is it possible to adjust the recording so that I can continue to record the DVD disc to a file? Thank you very much for any help and advice.
