not sure... my friend put my PC together so i'm pretty noob when it comes to the hardware but i think you might be right, it makes sense because it only stopped working after he rebuilt my pc. how can i go about finding the issue and fixing it?

tried to burn some movies on dvd+r blanks, tried multiple discs and multiple brands at slow speeds and got the same issue every time. here is my log.
