  1. Yeah I know what I'm doing when it comes to installing stuff. New burner works fine.
  2. alright well i went out and bought it, gonna put it in now, upgrade the firmware while im at it too thanks for all of your help guys
  3. im thinking that this is the burner at walmart although im not sure, would this one be a good purchase? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16827106228
  4. Yeah i figured it was bad media. Memorex and Maxell works pretty good though. Like I said my friend just gave these to me for burning some dvds for him so he'll have to get a different blank dvd's. Also if i bought a better burner and tried burning at 20x would it work without fail? Uncle has an 18x burner and he gets worthless dvds if he burns it that high but at a lower speed it works fine. I know my walmart has a Lite-on dvd burner that burns dual layer. So i might get that.
