Would the fact I have uses dvd flick and not have any ifo files be the problem?

How would I do that?

I used isoburn and the disk is readable by my computer. However when I try the dvd player it just says loading. I followed the How to write DVD Video (IFO/BUP/VOB) files to a double layer disc guide to the letter. The format was vob do I need another format please help thanks
