Solved: For future reference, what I did was experiment with different kinds of custom firmware and found that 3.F3 MadDog firmware worked perfectly, which I found sort of odd since everyone and their dogs recommended liggy's. No more errors at a 10 out of 10 test - and i highly doubt that i'm just having a extremely good luck even though it's always a possibility. Hope this helps someone else should they run into the same problem.

Yes, it's the same error at what seems an equal rate of discs (003 and 001). I'll try cleaning it first, and if there is no more replies from me anytime soon assume i'm looking for a new drive:/

Pretty much as topic says. I use a mix of both MKM-003-00 and MKM-001-00 Verbatims DVD+R DL. The error always comes to play at exactly 50%. The failure rate is around half the discs or so.
