As with everything 'optical disc' related, the 25GB value is the unformatted value and is using 1000 as the divider, not the true 1024.
The real size would be:
Maximum Format Capacity:Sectors: 12,219,392
Size: 25,025,314,816 bytes
Time: 2715:27:17 (MM:SS:FF)
25,025,314,816 bytes = 24,438,784 KB = 23,866 MB = 23.31 GB
That's the *best case* senario.
If the disc is formatted with what's known as 'spare areas' for error correction etc (part of the blu-ray standard), that size will be smaller still.
Thanks for your answer. Seems I got:
Current Format Capacity:Sectors: 11.826.176
Size: 24,220,008,448
Time: 2628:04:26 (MM:SS:FF)
Looks like there's still a whole 1G missing. And I know about the 'spare area'. I just thought it was only ~26MB in size? I forgot about the 1024 != 1000 thingy, so that at least accounts for something.
EDIT: The BD-RE that came with the player is the one I'm talking about. Could just be that this is an el-cheapo model.

Yesterday, I tried to do a 'quick erase' with ImgBurn 2.4.2.0. It wouldn't take, as ImgBurn kept saying the disc (BD-RE) wasn't empty. This seems to be a known issue. So, I reformatted it (which takes quite a while, of course); but now my BD-RE is only 22,5G in capacity!! WTF? Where did the rest of the 25G go to? I need it back, as I don't have 2+ gig to spare for the project.
I hope someone can clue me in on this. I have an LG-H20L blu-disc writer, btw. And it's a brand new rewriteable; and no errors were reported.
Formatted BD-RE capacity only 22.5G

Thanks, again!
BTW, I didn't realize you're the author of ImgBurn! Great program! It has made writing BD images a breeze!
