  1. To follow through, in case anybody was particularly interested in this drive: I brought it to an Apple Store for repair, and they swapped the drive for a Matshita UJ-867. I just burned with this using Verbatims at 2.4x and encountered no problems whatsoever. If you're having problems with the GSA-S10N drive and it's in a MacBook Pro, I highly suggest you get them to replace it. (You should still be under warranty if you have one of those in your system.)
  2. Well I did update the firmware for the log in the first post. And I updated it again to the firmware you posted, still with no luck. I 19:05:13 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!I 19:05:13 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 19:05:13 Total Physical Memory: 2,077,048 KB - Available: 1,614,960 KB I 19:05:14 Initialising SPTI... I 19:05:14 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 19:05:43 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD
  3. I'm actually using a macbook pro. Should I still update the firmware, or no?
  4. I've been trying to burn some dual layer images over the past few days, and I've had some bad luck. However, I've read through a lot of the suggested fixes like using Verbatim discs and updating the firmware, but I'm still getting failures. Here's my log for when I just recently used a Verbatim disc (don't want to waste them ), and thanks for reading my topic. I 16:49:14 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!
