  1. Seems nvgts.sys was the cause of the problem.

However, I couldn't figure out how to remove it successfully, in Windows XP unless I reinstalled.

However, even with updated drivers, the problem occured. I am not sure if it is an issue with ImgBurn or the Nvidia Drivers themselves? If you don't install the nvgts.sys driver then the burn will go fine. Right now, I am at 81% done of Test Mode, using the same .iso

  2. Confusing logs there... one minute it's Vista x64, the next it's XP SP2!

Sorry, I moved from Vista (old motherboard) and switched to XP. I dislike Vista with a passion.

It looks like the drive is on an nvidia controller yeah?

Yes, I just removed them and am going to try to attempt to burn again.

You've already tried updating / reverting the drivers?

    See above

Have you tried burning in safemode?

    No, I have not.

You can update SPTD to 1.56 from the duplexsecure website.

    Will look at that.

  3. It came with 1.55, however I installed Alcohol after not being able to get ImgBurn to work. So, I don't believe that this is the cause of any issue.

I can not access the Filter Drivers at the time, but I will in a second.

    (Without Alcohol Installed)

  4. Seems like Windows' I/O is getting stuck, which can only be caused by drivers. Make sure you're using the latest drivers available for your chipset, or if you are, revert to an older version or to the default built-in drivers from Windows. Also please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu). When you've tried burning with ImgBurn, did you try at 2x like your Wii games or at 20x like you've done with Alcohol?

    By the way...

    I 17:21:12 Destination Device: [6:0:0] Optiarc DVD RW AD-7200S 1.06 (Z:) (ATA)

There's firmware 1.09 available for your burner (AD-7200 SATA). Remove any disc and close the tray before flashing. Reboot after it has finished. I would try solving the stuck I/O error before attempting this.

Could you tell me where to find those? I did a google search "Firmware AD-7200" when I first was experiencing this problem and nothing showed up. So then I looked around Optiarcs site and couldn't find anything either. Edited Didn't see your other question. When I did try burning with ImgBurn, I tried burning at 2x, 4x 8x and 16x, all had the same issue. I didn't try 20 x because it isn't supported by the media (16x).

Well, I will be able to try to revert after the new Windows Installation is done. Removing the drivers didn't tide well with Windows. Hopefully, I will be able to resolve the problem then.

  6. Everything that just says acknowlegdged is when it freezes, I try to abort, nothing happens. I go to kill the process, the window goes away however the process still remains there.

I will post an alcohol log aswell. I tried burning the MSDN disc on Alcohol and it burned fine.

Like I said, nothing looks wrong from the logs, but, I can't burn anything at all.

  7. Helllo,

I have been trying to burn my MSDN Server 2008 Disc using ImgBurn, and whenever I try, no matter what the process I am doing is, I always experience "Write LeadIn" Freezing.

    What it freezes:

Seems like Explorer.exe and all sub processes. I can still move the mouse, however, if I try to start any programs after the freeze, nothing opens, not even My Computer. However, if I right click and explore My Computer it opens.

Programs don't open, Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.

I can't exactly give you a log... because nothing odd shows up.

I have Speed Spectrum Disabled from my BIOS, and most power saving options disabled. I searched for a Firmware/Device Driver Update, and could not find any.

I am currently trying to use Verbatim Media. My burner is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16827118012

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    GH0
