the newer version doesn't work either.

this doesn't word either, how do i know if ive got the right firmware? This is the firmware that i have downloaded from the sony-optiarc site...

it says: update failed. thats all...

i've ordered some verbatim disks, should be delivered somewhere this week. So if my drive doesn't work properly, i shoul use another drive. but what drive shold be a good one to use?

Thanks So if i use verbatim, it should work? Now i am using Atita The shop where i bought my dvd recorder advised me to use these. they said it was almost as good als the verbatim, only half the price...
