Yup... tried every speed possible. The same thing happens. I got further last time... how come it won't get that far now? (tried lots of disks from the same pack...) Verbs arrive today but I can't try them until the weekend... will they burn with the drive I mentioned in the first post? Thanks!

Hi again, Verbs arriving tomorrow... while I'm at school! I'm ANGRY! In the meantime... I'm getting these errors and don't know what they mean... ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 - Log ; Sunday, 15 March 2009, 16:19:28 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 16:16:51 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! Yes, I uninstalled them, but on reboot they automatically reinstall. When it re-installs should I restart or not? I don't usually, though I have tried it both ways with a DVD+RW (SL) and it does the same thing. Thanks for all your help!

I bought the drive 4 days ago so I doubt that it's really a problem... And I have a spare Vista Business License anyway so I'll give that ago.
-
Yes, I have... twice... but it didn't do anything! I think I might have to upgrade to Vista... Or get an external case so I can use the drive with my laptop. Does that Filter Driver Load Order tell you anything?

It is here: =============================================== Filter Driver Load Order - ImgBurn v2.4.2.0 =============================================== Upper Device Filter: redbook Upper Class Filter: GEARAspiWDM Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: [None Found] Lower Device Filter: imapi Filter Name: redbook File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys File Version: 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2108) File Description: Redbook Audio Filter Driver Product Name: Microsoft

Here's the file! I will try a few different things... I'm not bothered about the laser problems for the near future as I plan to have this console for infrequent use and get a newer falcon console for using often (for which I will use verbs). It was to big to be added by itself so I have zipped it up. Thanks PIONEER_DVD_RW_DVR_116D_1.09_22_FEBRUARY_2009_08_38_RICOHJPN_D01_67_MAX.rar

I'm on Amazon now ;-) Cynthia: What are the chances of a firmware update? This problem seems to have been around for a while!! http://club.cdfreaks.com/1278831-post20.html Cheers! EDIT: lol... you posted while I was typing! I will get the file asap

Thanks mmalves, I have tried following the tutorial but nothing seems to be happening. I don't mind burning at 1x if I get them working! I now have my second successful burn... and, as volvofl10 said, I know it's because of the crappy media BUT if I have 20 of them lying around I am going to use those rather than buy a load of Verbatims! I will run out of these and them go get myself some Verbs! In the mean time, my successful Burnout Log looks like this: I 08:36:18 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 08:36:18 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 08:36:18 Total Physical Memory: 522,332 KB - Available: 147,928 KB I 08:36:18 Initialising SPTI... I 08:36:18 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 08:36:18 Found 1 DVD

I had one successful burn of NFS! Then I tried another game and got the same error as I have been having... The NFS burned at 1x even though I selected AUTO (MAX) I 21:12:33 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 21:12:33 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 21:12:33 Total Physical Memory: 522,332 KB - Available: 202,144 KB W 21:12:33 Drive F:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. Okay, I am going to try burning at 4x (that's recommended by quite a few) and I will enable DMA. I haven't (knowingly) set up any master/slave system!

Hi, I am back... I have bought a new DVD Burner as neither of the other two worked... my new burner is the Pioneer 116D. I am getting the same errors. The log is here! Would it burn on a Sony Vaio FE31H with a PIONEER dvr-k16m or a Toshiba Satellite Pro with Matshita DVD-RAM UJ850S... I'm tempted to try the Pioneer because they make good quality drives... what do you think? THANKS!
