Hi, this is my first post on these forums. I am getting an error message in imgburn, saying
Power Calibration Area Error
Now, from my own searches I understand that this is a very vague error which could mean any number of things. However, I thought with the expertise here someone could help narrow it down for me with specifics of what's happening.
Firstly, I'm using Verbatim Dual Layer dvd+r disks, so I dont think this is the problem. I have already made 4 of them into coasters.
I've had this problems on two different dvd drives that I've tried in my PC. The first is a Pioneer dvr 108. This drives reads/writes CDs and single layer DVDs with no problem whatsoever. With dual layer dvds, it also writes the first layer perfectly. With a dual layer disk, At 50% it starts to write to the second layer and immediately gives the error message.
The second drive also reads/writes cds and single layer dvds without difficulty, and is an old lite on 851s which needed the firmware to be cross flashed to an 832s to support dual layer writing, but gives the power calibration error immediately on trying to write to a dual layer disk.
I thought maybe it was a problem with the cable since it is effecting both drives, but I'm not sure that makes sense since it works for regular DVDs.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I really hope someone has some ideas about this
edit: Thought I should add, I've tried 1x, 2x and 2.4x
