I loaded imgburn and did the read function to burn my Sony mini DVD - R disc to the computer. It saved as an ISO file and I downloaded the VLC media player and can play the video file on my computer - no problem there.
I then wanted to write it to another disc so I can burn videos, and tried to write it to a blank disc, a DVD-RW mini Sony disc. I selected the file to write and put in the brand new blank disc right out of the packaging. However, I got "Disc not empty," and it won't let me write the video to the disc.
Here is the info it comes up with from the disc I put in:

Please advise! I was hoping to test it out before buying regular DVD - R discs to burn DVD videos of my son's sports. Could it be because I put in a disc that is rewriteable, or does the disc need some special formatting via another step before it can be written on? I am just testing it and was hoping that I could tape over it, but if I need to just put in a - R (instead of -RW), that's no problem. BTW, I have windows 2000 Professional in case that makes any difference. Thanks!!!
