Thanks for the advice but post 2 doesn't help me cus I don't buy cheap media. I've been using memorex dvd+r dl's for a couple of weeks and they worked but now I haven't had a successful burn with the last 7 discs.

There should be a new firmware HX12 if your computer is a ThinkPad R400, R500, T400, T500, W500 and X200.

Do you know if this computer has nvidia chipset?
Hi Cynthia. Thanks for the welcome. I have an Intel 4 Series Express. I tried downloading the new firmware but it didn't help. I tried burning another disc and got this:

I've been using imgburn for a couple of weeks now without any problems.
But recently when I burn images, halfway through it says there's been an i/o error.
I cleaned the drive and tried to burn another image but there was still an error.
Here is the log from my last attempt; please help:

Thanks for the advice. I bought some Verbatim discs and burning has been perfect ever since.
