well, I answered my own question, sorry about cluttering up the forum - its cleverly disguised as the last item in a 'Mirror n' list.

ImgBurn was recommended by thefreecountry.com for DVD burn support for bare metal hard drive cloning. Freecountry lists a number of freeware burning programs including ImgBurn AND ExpressBurn (as distinguishable software entities). All I can see on the 'download' page is a tab for ExpressBurn which freecountry describes as a strictly audio CD burner. What's up and where is the ImgBurn download button?
