Do you know which SATA connector the burner is attached to? According to the manual there are SATA1 to SATA7.
theres not 7
theres 5
the Neo2 has 7 i belive.
its plugged in to sata 3

this is a clean install of vista with board drivers updated to the latest from the MSI site.
The burn failed again and i've no more media until 2morrow i think.

Tried the 4x write speed?
I'll try it, but i only got 2 cheap disks left and no verbs lol. burn both spindles of 25 trying to fix it

Sorry wrong log, was supposed to post this one, although its the same machine as the other log. I've put thisdown to media am i wrong ?
All my other burns get the first log as do the verbs

If your drive won't burn anything, try cleaning it or investing in a new one.
The only thing it wont burn is DVD DL everything else is fine. Reguardless of media in the drive

Don't attempt to burn to a disc more than once.
If it fails then throw it in the bin.
Try cleaning your drive.
Maybe you got a faulty batch of discs?
I can't stand laptop drives myself and we get a lot of laptop owners coming on here with problems. You'd be better off with an external drive.
I'm getting the exact same issue with both verbs and a cheap media. I cant efford to burn another 50 verbs so im trying just cheap media.
All im tryig to do is save discs from the 2 year old and 11 month old so there backups i've made from my own legit disks

Have you tried another speed - like 4x?
I normally burn at 2.4x and the whole thing takes around 45 mins. i think the auto speed was a misclick. It was only a test run for the log as i'd tried a new install

Can you post a log of the Verbatim ones failing ?
No but its identical in respect on how it fails. On the layer switch write errors

Ever since installing windows 7 every burn fails at the same place regardless of what i try to burn. I even brought a new drive because i though this may be the issue. Verbatim disks even fail but i refuse to fix tis problem buy burning threw hundreds of expensive disks

It's not the burner i brought a brand new one to try it i had a 215 before i got the 216
I'm setting up a new machine today to try and get it burning so we'll see :-) , although i still need media lol
