Your drive doesn't like the crap media you're throwing at it. Try the other available speeds, and, when they don't work, get Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) blanks. And yet my friend has burned the same copy that I am trying on the same exact media. I understand there are diff grades of discs but there is obviously a way to do it.... I rather not spend another 25 bucks. have any other ideas?

K kids heres what i got going. I have a DL dvd i want to write on Memorex(I know its not vib... and dont tell me its the media i just spent 25 bucks for this stuff) I have the latest firmware for my Pioneer drive that was just updated and i have the correct layer split. but I keep getting the calibration area error.
