  1. Ain't that the truth. Lol My m/b's maker is Biostar & the chipset's an nForce 550. Looks like the last thing nVidia put out for it was back in March. I thought of another thing to try. Gonna plug my burner into another sata port & see what happens there. I had some different burning problems a couple months ago that had to do with sata port issues. The problem may be with my m/b itself. Thanx again for the replies & suggestions.
  2. Greetings again all, I went to backup a movie earlier today & upon verifying the burn I get this: I 11:27:04 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! I 11:27:04 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 11:27:04 Total Physical Memory: 3,669,484 KB - Available: 2,869,396 KB W 11:27:04 AnyDVD can interfere with ImgBurn's ability to verify accurately, please ensure it's disabled! I 11:27:04 Initialising SPTI... I 11:27:04 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 11:27:05 Found 2 DVD-ROMs and 1 DVD
  3. Ok. I updated the chipset drivers, the m/b bios, & checked the sata cable connections & bam...same error. Then I tried swapping a couple of the sata ports & ended up with these combos: Controller 1 - Main hdd (port 0), DVD-ROM drive (port 1) Controller 2 - DVD Burner (port 0), 2nd hdd (port 1) And all seems to be well & I'm burning successfully again. Question - as far as performance is concerned, should I have the hdd's paired & the DVD drives paired, instead of what I'm running now? Or does it matter?
  4. Thanx for the reply & suggestions. Its funny that you mentioned trying a new cable. I had to replace another sata cable for one of my secondary hard drive earlier today. I may have bumped or nudged the one for my burner loose at the port while I was in there. My motherboard is a Biostar TForce 550SE. 4 sata ports...so 2 controllers right? I'm not sure on their make tho.
  5. Greetings all, This is my 1st post. For the past 3+ years I've been a proud user of ImgBurn & have had no problems ever...until now. I burned 2 backups last night that ran perfect, business as usual, but then today I get this: I 20:18:19 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! I 20:18:19 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 20:18:19 Total Physical Memory: 3,669,484 KB - Available: 2,983,052 KB I 20:18:19 Initialising SPTI... I 20:18:19 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 20:18:21 Found 2 DVD-ROMs and 1 DVD
