Any idea? Was it just a coaster?

  2. Try burning at a different speed.

If that doesnt work I would recommend updating your firmware. Since its a laptop its kinda hard to find since most drives are just boxed up drives. You didnt include the first part of your log so I cant help you there. Go to your laptop manufacturer website and find firmware for your DVD burner.

Another reason is that either your lens is dirty(buy a cleaning disk) or you need to use high quality disks(such as verbatims!) the reason for this is because your driver might not support that dye, but practically every drive supports verbs. All in all, I would recommend getting a external burner, laptop burners are JUNK!

  3. ok still having problems' changed all settings and updated dvd drive as stated.. wondering if it's my xbox firmware?? just to make sure here is a verify log on the dvd that i burned,, didn't tick verify before i burnt the disc so did it manually,, i cant find the burning log,, is this the reason?? anway here's the log

    :whistling:

  4. Thats not the problem. That game is a Wave 3 game. Now, I cant discuss this on the forums but I'll give you a clue, you need to talk to the guy who flashed your xbox and ask him to update it. Another problem is that you did not prepare the game ISO right. Cant really go into details.

  5. the game works i just cant burn it properly ive tried burning at 4x 6x and 8x none of them work still get stuck at verifying at 50%.

i tried updating firmware but it just says "your system is not configured with the tsst corp cd/dvd ts-h652l drive. no update needed.

i used to be able to burn games fine then none of the games i burn work im getting the 2.4x verbatims today

Why bother with verification is the game works? Either way the burn is completed. Just pop the game in your xbox and check if it works.

  6. Bad news guys..i used up my very last verbatim blank, now i have none left. :'(

However my last verbatim managed to pull it off with my updated NEC drive and the mission was a success. :w00tdance:

Too bad i wasted my time on my quad cores drive instead of switching to my p4 drive

I've been reformating my computer so much i forgot to update the greatest thing of all..the dvd drive.

Now my beloved verbatims..you may rest peacefully. :)

Just remember folks..UPDATE your firmware before you end out of precious verbatims like moi.

Anyway thanks alot everyone :huggles: ..to think i was going to try clonecd..foolish me. :whistling:

  7. Now since samsung sucks I cant post you the exact link but go to this site: http://samsungodd.com/eng/ and on the top go to Firmware>Firmware Download and in the search type in "SH-S183L" without the quotes.

Is it really okay if i change my current TS-H653L firmware to a SH-S183L firmware? What i mean is if it is safe to do so?

It's the same drive, its just different firmwares. If your current firmware doesn't do what you need it to do, whats the reason that stopping you? If you do it properly(make sure there is no media inside) everything will work fine. Just follow the instructions on the flasher.

Did you try updating firmware on that other drive? How did the burning go?

  8. Also for the first drive you posted try updating the firmware on that also. It's a re-bagged Samsung drive.

You're slick haha! I was typing my response before you posted this.

    Getting slow, old man? :P

Haha dam, being 16 is considered old now?

    :P

There's newer firmware for that burner if you want to try (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). Also it may be better to try burning at 4x (or 6x if it becomes available after the firmware update), after all those are 8x rated blanks.

Oh, and put ImgBurn 2.5.0.0 back on

You're slick haha! I was typing my response before you posted this.

But yeah, tell us the results afterward. Now about that other drive, as mmavles said - either clean it or get new media. That drive might of ran out of life, or the lens might be dirty. Also you may have the same issue I did. My drive wouldnt work with certain types of media. You can either get Verbs or just buy a new drive like me.

  10. I got the Sony because seller said it was used less. Also the LG looked beat up.

Also, the Sony has firewire capability, so I hooked it up via firewire to my computer and I'm getting blazing speeds out of this bad boy. It also burns on my crappy blanks! I'm 14 out of 14 right now on my new 20 pack of the blanks Ive been having trouble with.

I would of gotten the LG but you posted the comment after I already left so I didnt see it. The LG also costs only 43 dollars new, while the Sony is in the 100 dollar range.

  11. I've been having a lot of problems lately with my blanks I purchased. You guys kept helping me out and today I finally decided to buy a new drive.

I bought a Sony DRX-710UL for only 25 dollars! It works perfectly with my blank disks!

Anyways, if you have a good burner and dont have enough money for verbs, look into Sonik Data disks. I've been burning all day out of a new pack of them, and so far out of 14 disks....Ive had 0 coasters and 14 successful burns(20 pack).

I'm really excited I finally got stuff working!
