hi, thanks the file is being burned from a 10,000rpm raptor drive so im pretty sure it can keep up with 2.4x burn speed so it must be my system, ill have a try with what you have told me and post my results back up on here, thanks alot for the help. its very greatly apreciated edit: i did the hd tune benchmark and my results were Minimum: 54.8mb/s Maximum: 84.9mb/s average: 74.5mb/s access time: 8.1ms burst rate 110.0mb/s CPU Usage: -1.0% i dont think my HD will be the problem but the cpu usage % does puzzle me? i dont know of any DMA options (i know what it stands for though etc) also i opened imgburn again and it gives me this in the log (just from opening imgburn) W 03:48:01 SPTD can have a detrimental effect on drive performance. the rest of the log is normal. hi, im having trouble burning dual layer dvds. firstly in the log that is posted bellow i keep getting the message W 23:04:31 Waiting for buffers to recover... (LBA: 2724368) W 23:04:37 Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level... and also upon verification of the dvd burn it always says W 23:25:04 Failed to Read Sector 1957921 - Reason: L-EC Uncorrectable Error at between 50%-55% which im guessing is around where it would swap layers? i have recently tried to update my dvd burners firmware to fix the issue but sadly no luck, i couldnt find the firmware files anywhere recently but i managed to find one that was more recent than my current firmware and i did flash that to my dvd burner. the version i flashed it to is 'LL0D' so if anyone has any idea if there is a newer one for my drive then would you mind supplying a link? ive looked endless hours my dvd drive model is LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1H also the media i am using is Tuff Discs (i know i should buy verbatims but they are very expensive and i know the price tag is for a good reason but i dont think my problem is dvd related as they was working fine with every other burner ive had and also they was working fine on this until a few weeks back and i havnt changed anything that could has caused this, all i have done since then is reformated my pc) Here is the log file that ImgBurn produced me with: I 22:27:20 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started!
