I thought since imgburn already creates the blu ray format (BDVM,Certificate, etc.) folders and also creates the DVD Format folders and since I beleive (please correct me if I'm wrong) that m2ts and VOB are both "containers" of MPEG2, that it might be a simple matter. Obviously it's not. Took 5.5 hours.

Thank you very much. That DVD Flick did it. Slow process, but very nice result!

Hello, Is it possible to change an m2ts recording to a dvd format (Video and audio_ts folders) with ifo's vob's and bups using imgburn? Will it be possible in the future? I ask because I don't have stand alone player for it yet and dvd media is cheaper than blu ray media. Can you give advise how to go about this?

I can't find anything at Powerdvd site. But I was just checking at the notebook manufacturer site and it seems other people complained of the same problem and are getting mailed an installation cd with the correct version of powerdvd to play blu ray. It seems it's a problem that happens to those who purchased the systems with vista but windows 7 upgrade option, then switched when windows 7 came out, now have a problem getting the correct powerdvd update. There is still something strange about the iso and 7 zip, I created a new one and still "it cannot be opened as an archive...". Any thoughts on that?

Powerdvd 8, came with the notebook, it always says "there is and unsupported format in drive D: " or so, even though it downloaded some sort of update the first time the blu ray was inserted, nothing changed. I can explore the disk though, It seems every software in the world sees the disk except the one that's supposed to. But I thought mounting an iso solved the problem for other people so I tried. Does'nt work for me, but then I find there's something abnormal about the iso (I cant explore it with 7 zip) so maybe something went wrong?

Sorry I should have said more about the system, Its dual core, 4 GB Ram, 64 bit, Windows 7 I beleive I have opened iso's before here with 7 zip, and created with IMGburn too, but not blu ray iso. It could also be a one time freak error, but these thing take such a long time to do I wanted to check before repeating. Could it be anything else?

Hello, I'm new to Blu ray world, I only have one and is "Superman Returns". I have been unable to watch it yet. The only player I have is the blu ray drive on this notebook. My goal for now is simply to watch the movie. If I simply insert it and try to play it I get the message "unformatted disk" or something to that effect, even though Imgburn seems to have no problem detecting it and analyzing it. So I was trying to follow the guide here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=137151 But in the end I get the same message from the mounted drive. But I also noticed something strange. I cannot open the ISO created with IMGBURN using 7-zip. Is this an indication that something went wrong creating the ISO or I should expect 7 zip cannot open ISO's created with imgburn? Thanks for any help (directions to better guides, suggestions, answers, anything is welcome!)

OK I finally got a kit (it's basically a dvd with a little brush on it). No difference, th JVC does not see the Verbatims and the Bose does not see the memorexes. Since the Bose still can see the memorex attached several posts ago, the one named "both.txt", what changed that the new ones are not seen? or what else is going on?
-
They play other stuff with no problem. But I'll get a kit and see.

OK, Firmware updated, machine rebooted, speed set at 4x using the optiarc only. The result is the same. Memorex recording plays on the JVC but not on the Bose-message "Format unsupported", and the verbatims play on the BOSE but not in the JVC-message "No Disk" What else has changed since the time this drive could record DL's which would play at both players? Logs attached, with verify. ImgBurn4.log ImgBurn5.log

Ok, Now I got the verbatims. But there's a new problem I never noticed before, with my old PC, so I did some experimenting and here I try to explain the situation. First, It used to be with my old PC I was able to use memorexes and they used to play in any other player. When I got this PC I'm using now it was the first time imgburn rejected them (or the drive, whatever) so I then got the verbatims. They work with the new PC and the old PC But... the resulting recording does not play in all my home players. I got two important ones, a JVC XV-S45 in my room and a Bose lifestyle in the living room. What I'm experiencing is that the verbatims do not play in the JVC. So I went to my old PC and used a Memorex again, recorded with no trouble and it plays in the JVC, BUT NOT IN THE BOSE! What is going on here? I tried them both in my son's little SYLVANIA and they both play there. I'm attaching the following. First, information from an old memorex recording, done in my old PC some time ago, which plays in both the Bose and the JVC, to prove I'm not crazy. This file is named Both.txt Second, a new recording on the old PC with memorex which does not play in the Bose. Third, a new recording of the same DVD but burned with the new PC using verbatims which does not play in the JVC. What I'm looking for is the PC/media/settings combination which will play in both JVC and Bose. Please Help! Both.log ImgBurn2.log ImgBurn3.log

Then what are they good for? I mean they are then useless to me. How can there be a product so consisntetly bad, based on other's experience seen around here, and still pretend it is the intended product? Isn't there a limit to bad quality when it stops being just bad quality and becomes fraud? I know I will not buy them anymore, but how much money they make before everyone notices and stops buying? it's plain robbery! I know this has nthing to do with you guys here. Just letting the steam out. I feel better now. Thank you.

Hello, Please help me here. What is wrong? I just read that the DL media I'm using is crap. But is there anything else going on here. Log attached. ImgBurn.log

Hello, To change the book type it is needed to know the original manufacturer of the drive. Mine is Matshita and is not in the list. When I search it seems matshita is panasonic. That's not in the list either. So it must be some other. If some of you know this stuff would you be so kind to add to the FAQ or the guides a list of original manufacturers and their possible personifications? It is not straight forward to figure that kind of stuff out, and I suspect you guys have most already figured out? Thank you.
