  1. OK, well I'll keep going with these discs and just hope that it was a crappy batch, or if worst comes to worst just convince him to let me use his dvd burner Either way, when these discs run out, I'm definitely going to get some Verbatims, which you can assure me will be OK? Thanks so much for your help
  2. Okay so then why would it be that my friend has used around 100 of these discs and had only a few coasters(right term?)? Is it because of his DVD drive? Also I tried burning one of the discs at both 4x and 8x. At 4x it failed to set L0 capacity and 8x it set the L0 capacity but then it gave me an I/O error which said it "failed to write image." I then tried a disc from a different pack of the same discs and it worked fine.
  3. Thanks for such a quick reply! Well I tried burning at the lowest speed as I heard that the lower the better, but I guess in my case it isn't. Also with the discs I have, the only reason I bought them was because of the price, but I'm kind of regretting that now looking at the newest reviews. If they don't work at the higher speeds do you think it's possible I have a "bad batch?" Thanks again
  4. I'm trying to burn Xbox 360 backup games to dual layer disc using media from a brand called Aone. Now I know that they aren't Verbatim, but according to friends and these reviews they're very reliable, but that isn't my experience. A friend has used many of these discs and claims that only around 3 or 4 fail out of 50. The first disc I tried failed to set the "L0 Data Zone capacity" due to a power calibration error, which I've read can be because of dodgy media. Thinking that it was just unlucky that the first disc I tried was a crappy one, I tried another, which burned fine and worked... at first. Now my Xbox refuses to read it after playing it fine for around an hour. I've tried multiple discs, some have given me the power calibration error straight away and some have failed during the burn due to a write in error. When one of the discs gives an error Imgburn won't allow me to try again saying "Device not ready (No reference position found)." This happens regardless of what disc I put in and it seems to also stop the drive from reading any kind of disc and it even once stopped from opening it when I pressed the button. I then have to restart my computer and it works again. Out of the 7 discs I've used only one works, although that disc may still fail. I'm burning them at 1X, so that's not the problem. Also I'm using an ATAPI DVD A DH20A1S with the firmware UX14 (which I think is the latest). I bought my computer off a friend, and because the drive hasn't got a logo on the front I'm not certain who the manufacturer is, although Google tells me it's a Lite-On. This is the log from the last disc I tried to burn (when the power calibration error appeared I pressed continue, but it continued to show errors, so I canceled. I've tried to cover everything here, so if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it Thanks.
