  1. Thanks mmalves it worked perfectly!!! Miep
  2. So it will automatically make a disk that loads up and installs the XP? What do I choose? Write files/folders to disc? I'm just nervous because this is my last dvd disc, I'm too sick to go out and buy more. I already tried this once and got a disc full of files that doesn't load up, it just shows the files. So I just want to make sure it works properly this time. My friend needs her laptop to work. If it were just me I could take the time to figure it out. Sorry that I'm being a pain. Hope you can help. Miep
  3. I'm not sure if i did, because i made it on another pc that I'm not in front of right now. I did read that tutorial, and that was when i started getting confused. How do I make the files (in the pic I put up) into a working bootable disc? When i started following the directions it didn't make sense... I couldn't save the boot.ima file to my pc, so where was i supposed to save it? Do you know what i mean? Head cold and trying to make disc... not a good combo eh...
  4. I have a cold so that may be why I made a mistake, and now can't understand how to get out of it. Please be gentle with your replies... I downloaded a win xp lite version from a torrent. I wanted to use it to make a disc to install xp on my friends old laptop so she can use it for school. But I must have chosen the wrong option because when i put the disc in, it looks like this: is it because of the way i wrote the disc? Or is it fine and I'm just not using it correctly? I also wanted to know if I can use those files to make the right type of disc, if that is wrong. I looked at making a bootable disc and my head started to spin a bit. I want to be able to install XP on my friends lappy. Thanks miep
