After having the same trouble listed in this post, I tried 3 different DVD+R's that we have in the office. I am sure they are all cheap, but here is what I ended up with. The first attempt was on a Memorex label, the second on an Office Depot label, and the third and successful one was on a Phillips label.

This is my first time buring image files, as I have only used DVD's to back up data before. ALL the brands have worked fine for that. Is burning an image file so much more particular?

Thanks for your help and these forums, I have learned so much in the last few days pouring over these posts.
To answer some a question, the burner is an external on USB 2.0.
For my home machine I just got a new NEC ND-3550A, Dual Layer DVD+/-RW Burner. I am hoping this unit will make a few less coasters. I will also be using better media per the recomendations posted. We use these at work primarily for short term backup purposes, so cost is a high priority. We are still developing our long term storage.
