Thanks for the reply and I've updated my burner and I've burnt again at 4x speed and its working great now. =] Could have been the update or could have been a bad quality I'll never know. But thanks again. I will have to get a LiteOn drive next time I need to buy one, I didn't know that there was such a thing as quality scans!

Hey, I've backed up my Guitar Hero and Rock band games for 360 and occasionally the game will freeze in a song and then continue on. I'm here to ask this question because I can't afford to risk testing burning heaps of discs cos they're real expensive. What discs I have is verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (PN 95123). I've been burning them at 4x speed as a reputable forum member here told me so, every other game works flawlessly its just my guitar hero and rock band games. As I have read newer burners can record faster than the specified speed on the discs, the burner I have is a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50 upgraded with the newest firmware available. I understand that my burner may have stuffed up the burn in the first place, but I dont think the odds of that are very high because all my other games are okay. But really, I just want to know if I should burn again at 4x and hope for the best, or take it down to 2.4x, but I'm not sure if that will do any better. Hope someone can help! Cheers.

Cheers for your help mate, the first one installs fine, but the second one says "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". Should I be able to burn a disc even without the second one installed?

Hey, I'm trying to burn something to dvd, however ImgBurn will not let me do so. I've burnt alot of things with ImgBurn before so I'm not sure what the problem is... I've got everything set up to burn but the little picture to click on doesnt show up. Down the bottom it says "Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present)" not sure what that means? I've restarted my computer, restarted the program and neither of them worked. I do have up to date drivers for my burner and also for ImgBurn. Cheers.

Hey mate, the firm ware is the newest I upgraded it just the other week. I have set it to 4x, it can go higher. However the disks are just the 2.4x disks... Do you think I should set the speed higher or should I set it to 2.4? Cheers.

Well I'll give it a shot. You are the expert. With the "Test" part, is that where you can test to make sure it will work correctly without actually writing to a disc?

Ahh, silly me. So I should burn it with 4x mate?

Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try burning at 4x with a brand new blank disc. If it doesn't work at first, try a lens cleaning disc on that burner. Thanks, I will do that! I did check before hand by using device manager and windows told me it was up to date. >.<

Im using Verbatim discs, they are 2.4x not the 8x. on the packaging it has "P/N: 95123". They are made in Singapore so i think they should be alright. My DVD burner has the latest firmware as well.
