yeah i tried to find some as well but no luck. i found some other people with problems w/ this burner so i'm guessing it's not the greatest. thank goodness for completecare warranty and next business day support although i would much rather have a fully functional laptop that doesn't need a damn warranty...

just successfully burned a verbatim CD-R, no problems. tried then verbatim 2.4X DVD +R DL and same error. so is it nothing else but faulty hardware? not a firmware problem potentially?

it worked before... i'm not sure of now. i will try a normal CD. what would it mean if a normal CD/DVD works but this doesn't? faulty DVD drive?
