  1. Looks to me as the burner couldn't even read what it just burned. I would try with some quality media or burn it at 2.4x write speed. SUCCESS. Same media; written at 2.4x. Thank you for your help and patience. Jim
  2. Yes. USA Jim Yes, the region free dvd I am trying to create is going to Australia. Their request for 'region free'.
  3. I've tried to play the dvd. I put it in my Philips DVP 5900, it appeared everything was going to happen and it got to 'title' and stopped. Remote doesn't work, buttons on dvd player don't work. So, I disconnected the power cord. Waited 15 seconds and plugged it back in. The player went to loading and I pressed the 'open' button, tray opened and I removed the dvd. How do I figure out what I did wrong? JIm Here is a copy of the log, I did something to screw it up, but what? It was definitely my /****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.1.0 - Log ; Sunday, 21 March 2010, 01:26:55 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 00:38:13 ImgBurn Version 2.5.1.0 started! 4. Question: Build Page -- IFO/BUP 32k Padding: enabled Region Code: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 tv system NTSC Does the region code info mean the disk will play in dvd players having any of those codings????????
  5. I used dvddecry... to copy my movie (I made it and own it) from the dvd (region 1) and put it on my Hard drive (H). It is in a video_ts file. IMGBURN recognizes that file. I will now use write files/folders to disc? or Write image file to disc? Jim ... okay, so I followed the guide for converting a full set of ifo, vob, and bup files on hard drive to single layer media. It appeared to succeed. I will try to play the dvd in the morning. Question: on the build page: IFO/BUP 32k Padding: enabled Region Code: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 TV system: NTSC [does that region code listing mean it will play in all those regions???????]
  6. Optiarc DVD RW AD-7590S 1.70 (atapi): a Sony product - they don't support region 0 (region free). So, If I understand the information in IMGBURN guide, having the region free coding in the VIDEO_TS.IFO file won't help if the DVD BURNER doesn't allow anything other than 1 through 8. Am I interpreting the information correctly? Jim
  7. Pardon my ignorance: been editing for 2 months. I am using speededit. I can output to mpeg2, avi, and a 'bunch' of others. It says nothing about region codes. so If I use Imgburn to put the mpeg2 (m2t) onto a dvd, it is on there with region free (region 0) coding? In other words any dvd player, no matter what region it is encoded for will play the dvd. I am trying to comply with a requirement for entering the Melbourne International Film Festival. Jim
  8. What 'region codes' does Imgburn 'burn' to? Does it include 'region free' coding? can one choose the region? Jim
