Okay I checked the drive capabilities and everything on there is checked the same as yours except C2 Errors is checked on mine and DVD-Ram isn't. I have an external slim but I just wanted a laptop that I could just use the internal drive to burn my backups. My slim, however, burns backups fine on my desktop. I guess I'll just have to stick to that then... thanks. EDIT: I have a friend that burns his backups on his laptop and they burn just fine. Is it truly recommended NOT to use laptop drives?

Thanks for your reply. I found out what it is; I have two different sets of verbatim's and I guess the 50pk I have only supports up to 2.4x. Is that an OK writing speed? As far as SP1, I just bought this computer a week ago and there aren't any updates for it so I haven't checked. On Best Buy's website and everywhere I search for the model of my drive, it says that it is dual layer compatible. I've contacted Samsung twice and they keep saying that my drive is not a DL. I don't know what to believe...
-
I know Verbatim's can go up to speeds from 2.4x - 8x, so why is ImgBurn saying it can only go to 2.4x? Samsung is saying my burner isn't a dual layer, which is incorrect. My discs keep failing but I think writing at 4x will fix the problem... I 10:26:07 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! Does anyone have experience using this burner?
-
Does anyone know if my drive is even capable of burning dual layer? All reviews on the internet says my computer can. It is a Samsung QX410-S02. I made sure it did before I purchased it, but I contacted Samsung and they said it is not a dual layer burner. I am very confused.

Hey everyone. I recently purchased a Samsung QX410. I became frustrated with Memorex DVD+RL so I decided to purchase Verbatims from best buy for my XBOX 360 backups. First burn in and it failed at around 42%. The discs are also made in Singapore. Here is the log I 17:56:21 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started!
