I've been using my DVR-116D mostly for dual layer disks both verbatim and cheaper brands and have never really had much of a problem other than the odd generic coaster. Today I decided to try out some plain single layer DVD-Rs (have to use - instead of + for other reasons) and i've found that i get the I/O errors on all brands even verbatim. I know the firmware is 1 version out of date but the updater seems to hang. The odd thing is all the writes come out fine after each retry (always on the second attempt of writing) it just takes 2-3 times longer than it should which is annoying. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks
