Well Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden didn't work, nor did a CD clean. Guess I'll just stick to my desktop and transfer files via Cat5 : /. Thanks for the help again.

Fast response :0, I'll give that a try and see what happens (probably same result). Any suggestions on an internal laptop drive that isn't absolute crap? Thanks again.

After about 5s it goes to 0, around 6s after it gives me an I/O error. Have tried 2x/2.4x/4x/8x with the DVD in the log and a Maxell DVD-R (drive wont even recognize the Maxell) Have tried other ISO files and different DVDs. if I: Mode Write -> Right click drive under destination -> Capabilities, it gives me "Abnormal program termination". I have burned using these CDs and this ISO with both my desktop and our upstairs desktop. Drive will still read DVD/CDs. Running an Acer Aspire 4530, downloaded the drive from http://aspiregemstone.blogspot.com/2009/05/dvd-drive-firmware.html (the newest one listed at DriverHQ will not launch the update wizard) I have also tried RR07.
