I disagree. The very same disc which fails during copy (And it isn't just a specific disk, I've tried this with several.) I can view with VLC. Only when I try copying the DVD disc to a blank DL DVD (Verbatim) does this occur - and only with DL DVDs, single layer discs work fine. I have no problem copying approximately 8gb of data from my hard drive to the same brand blank discs. If my drive can read and write DL DVDs in all cases save for one, how can it be a "hardware thing"?

I am running XP SP2 on a Lenovo R61, version 2.5.2 ImgBurn. My DVD device is a Hitachi LG HL-DT_ST GSA-T20N with the WX05 firmware release. (According to Firmware HQ, there is a later release, WY04.) Whenever I try to copy a decrypted DVD movie disc to a DL disc the write proceeds to a certain point and ceases. If I do the same operation to a standard DVD disc it works. Imgburn has no problem reading DL discs. To verify that imgburn could write to a DL drive I tried to copy about 8gb of other data from my hard disk, and Imgburn did so successfully.
