i recently had an rma for replacement verbatim discs, as the first batch were apparently defective. but now ive gotten two I/o errors in a row, when before i never got a write error with verbatim. only other time i ever got errors like this was with memorex. Im just trying to figure out what the definite problem is. the first burn had the same error at 33% and this one was about 46%:

so if it was the disks or drive, how would you explain the same drive burning on these discs form the same spindle. and its not like this is a new problem, its happening on and off, and when i do get the drive to detect the blank discs, it burns perfectly with no errors.
i asked my brother if he had the disc cleaner, i might just buy one from a store and return it.

I've used this burner to burn onto Verbatims from this same spindle and have had no trouble, but for some odd reason the past four I've pulled out have given me a 2 minute load time to just display Device Not Ready (No Reference Point Found). its happend before in the past due to an spti problem (im guessing) but it worked after i removed spti. i really dont believe the drive is dying since i havent burned that many dual layers.
failed twice in a row

i have a log file for first and second burn. oddly enough, the first time it didnt fail, it just froze at a particular %, but the second time it definately failed and alot sooner
