I'm sure it was 2.4. The usual. Discs are all clean. Pretty much brand new (Never take them out the spindle) I guess a new driver would be alright.

You are using 8x rated media MKM-003-00 and the only speed available is 2.4x Your drive is kinda old now and can't deal with the new dye. You have to try with 2.4x rated media MKM-001-00 That's silly. I mean I've been using the same spindle for a while. I don't see how it can just flop over and die on me. There's got to be another explanation.

1x isn't an option here Try with the newer firmware http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=16103 Try to find 2.4x media MKM-001 I've tried it with 2.4 too. It failed on that. Have to find the firmware first xD. Any ideas where?
