was burning a BDMV and received the error as shown in the log. What can cause this? How can I fix this?

Was trying to burn an img less than 800mb on a DVD+R Verbatim disc. Tried two different discs. Not sure what the problem is.

It was the hard drive! New hard drive is significantly faster too. New installation of windows 7, set imgburn buffer to 256mb, set burn speed to AWS(MAX) using verbatim BD50 2X discs, and it burned at 4X fine (imgburn said disc was 2x,4x capable) Thank you for the technical support Lightning UK!

by the way, should I enable the option "always use buffered i/o" or try it OFF first with the new hard drive...

I believe my hard drive is failing. I bought a 1TB WD Caviar Black. Hopefully this was the issue. Your thoughts?

At one point it took 30 mins to read 512MB of data from your hdd! Clearly there's something wrong with that. Are you using your hdd for anything else during the time that it's burning? Maybe taskmanager would show you some other process running? You can add on columns that show Read/Write/Other I/O. Perhaps indexing or defrag is kicking in? Perhaps AV scanning is kicking in? It might be worth testing your hdd to check it's all readable - and at full speed. Try HD Tune or similar. I'm not running or using the computer for any other task during the burn. It gets to the 50% mark pretty quick, burning at 4-6X. Then once it hits the 2nd layer...? Here is a scan of my hard drive in hdtune. any recommendation for a new hard drive if that is what you think i need? I think my hard drive has slowed down this past month. 60 GB free of 320gb.

Using a Verbatim 50GB disc rated at 6X. Burner is an LG WH10LS30. Using an HP S3200N slimline computer. AMD 64 4800+ 2.5ghz, 2gb ram, windows 7 32bit. here are my logs from my two attempts. 1st attempt i/o buffer set at default 40mb and max burn rate, 2nd attempt set at 512mb and 4X burn rate. no programs running. i even lowered the computers resolution the 2nd run to 800x600.
