  1. It takes about 1.5 hours for a drive to format a BD-RE properly and with full certification - so the drive performs it's own internal checks on the disc to make sure they're writeable and readable.

Then it'll taken another 1.5 hours for ImgBurn to write zeroes to all the sectors - thus making it truly empty and providing you with another level of testing before you try and write real data)

As you're having problems with said discs, isn't that time well spent? It's not like you have to sit there waiting for it. Set it going and go do something else.

They aren't burning faster than 1x because you have spare areas (aka defect management) enabled. When it's disabled, they'll burn at 2x in your drive.

You do have the 1.00-09 (1.00-A9) firmware installed yeah? Right click the drive selection box and hit 'Capabilities'. It should list the full firmware version number on that window.

Yes I have 1.09 installed and the disc finally burned and I played it a little bit to see if it worked!! But I took your advice since I was in the middle of the burn when I contacted the forum! I popped in a new disc last night since these are RE disc's and formatted with ImgBurn and it seems to be burning just fine at 2x!! Then we will see about playback!! Thanks for the heads up Lighting!!

  2. Seems your drive or system got stuck and now won't process any I/O commands from the program (plus it's probably stuck in the middle of processing one).

Do another full format (erase) using ImgBurn.

Post the log (copy + paste from the Log window) if you run into problems.

But this is the second time this has happened!! Same spot! I will post the log right now!

Now the only thing that I have seen funny with these discs is they have never burned faster then 1x and if I stop and format with Imgburn it will take 10-12hrs for a 50gb disc right? My drive is new its a LGBH10

  3. I am burning Middle Men and at 59% burn speed has dropped down to 0.1x and then down to 0.0 its been like that for a while?? Never have seen this before I am burning a 50gb TDK RE that I formatted in windows. I have already burned a few disc's but have not run into this problem. I canceled the first burn and reformatted the disc but its the same thing. No changes as this is the way I always burn. I really don't know what to do so any help will be appreciated!

  4. Hi!

I've tried to burn xbox 360 games, but I cannot make it work. I have followed a lot of guides but I'm a noob and doesn't know if I have made it right. I have downloaded imgburn and before I burn the game I run it through abgx360 GUI. I got a suggestion from a dude to "wave the game down" if it was more than 2nd wave. So I also got the programme 360waves patcher. But it only seems to destroy the games, because when I later run them in abgx360 the video CRC, v0 CRC and V1 CRC turns red. So I make it all over, remove those destroyed files, extract the downloaded ones once again and run them through abgx360. Everything seems to be right then, at least it seems to work for others than me. The game is region free and there is nothing yellow or red in the log.

Now we come to the burning part. Stupidly I haven't saved the latest log, but my marked settings for img burn is apart from the settings that followed from the beginning: sectors in L0: 1913760, just like everyone else seem to do. But I cannot make it work. When i try to change the book type I can't choose anything. My Dvdram is a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N ATA Device. So I think it is a LG. But when I try to mark the Drive (For DVD+R DL Media) under the option tab for LG I get the message "Current setting: Unknown (FAILED!) Reason: Illegal Mode For This Track."

Is this the reason that it doesn't work?

Or is it because the game is to high waved?

    Please help!

You need to use Verbatim DVD+R DL discs! You need to have a samsung drive with kreon FW to read the disc or a drive that you know that can read the disc!! If you are dl just the img file then all that needs to be done is burn with ImgBurn there 2 files iso and a dvd file cant quite remember but I have copied alot of xbox games and have never had a problem PM me and I will walk you through it!

I use Verbatim DVD+R DL discs and i have a samsung that can read the discs now. But have you tried to burn some new games like for example need for speed hot pursuit? I've burned it out and the xbox can see that it is need for speed, but it cannot read it. When i run it through abgx360 I got the text that it is antipiracy25 protected in yellow. Has this something to do with the unit not capable of reading it? Cause the region is PAL and it's suppose to work.

Not sure about NSF the last game that I backed up was Black Ops and I did not have a problem with it! You run xbox backup creator first, copying the file to the HDD and then you run ABGX360 load the file into that make sure you have it set up so that it can get the required info from the net and patch the waves!! I have not run into a problem with any of the games I have copied!! I will see if I cant get the new NSF and try it out!! I'm in the USA to its NTSC out here don't know if that a issue?

  5. LIGHTNING UK! wasn't lucky to get a succesful burn when he tested HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH10LS30 1.00 Firmware Version 1.00-06 on TDK 2x BD-RE [TDKBLD-WBA-00] @ 2x

    http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=16152&view=findpost&p=124852

You would be surprised that many times a higher speed could produce a better burn than a slower speed. Just read this forum.

I am using 1.09 FW and the burns so far well have burned just fine!! Now playback of the movie RED had a few jitters not sure what caused them, but I will say that I did have issues burning with my BH08 on BDRE sometimes I would have to format twice and reburn!! Not sure what the exact meaning of the above thread is.....was it media issue or burner issue?? And I will have to look into burning faster, so do I set AWS for the BDRE to max??

  6. If you are getting a write speed miscompare, then it means your drive simply cannot burn at that speed, even though the media supports burning at 1x. Also burning slower does not mean a better burn anyways. Change the AWS to the minimum burn speed that your burner supports for BD-R media.

If you can only burn at 2.4x for the slowest, then at least set AWS for 2.4x for that media, but like I said there is no real reason to burn so slowly, and actually faster burns usually produces better burns anyways.

I remember someone saying something about the drive not being able to burn at slower speeds I think this has to do with BDRE meida in general, because I was able to burn BDR media at the 1x speed!! But I dont quite agree with you on burning faster produces a better burn!! Thanks for the info!!!

  7. I get the same warning I set AWS on the TDK BDRE to 1x copy rate says 1x but write rate says 2.3x 2.4x which if I remember has to do with the LG FW but I want to write at 1x how do I get ImgBurn or my drive to do this? I have an LGBH10 with the 1.09 FW. I just want to write at the slowest speed possible, I watched a BD that I burned and a couple of instances in the movie it got jittery!

  8. I'm trying to burn xbox 360 games, but it's not working. When I put the DVD in the xbox, a screen will come up that says put this DVD into an xbox to play it, in various languages.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I tried burning the same game twice, with different write speeds and the same thing happened to both of them when I put them in my 360.

I used an HP dvd840 to burn the DVDs. If that helps.

    wtf am i doing wrong???

what are you doing steps start to finish?

  9. Hi!

  10. All the games I have burned with ImgBurn and have never had any sort of problem!! And this is why the XBOX 360 drives only like Verbatim DL disc!! Plane and simple!! Use these discs and you should not have a problem!! I have burned about 30 of them and not once have I had an issue!! Hope this helps and sorry if its a double post!!!

  11. No idea.

All we care about is if it burns and verifies.

If your machine/drive is doing that ok, the rest is out of our hands - you might have a picky standalone.

No, there's nothing to change when switching media. In fact, you shouldn't ever have to change anything ever. The default settings work fine (I used them every day) and the program will suggest/perform changes when it detects it needs to.

Windows often gets confused about how much of a disc is used / left free, just ignore what it says. Sometimes the values fix themselves if you eject the disc, reboot and then insert it again.

Ok so I ran the files through TSMuxR and then burned! This changed multiple mts files to one, and now it plays....so does this get ImgBurn of the hook?? Just trying to narrow it down, also the sammy has never had problems playing multiple mts files!

  12. Default is to format with spare areas disabled... which is how yours seems to be configured anyway going by the size of the disc. (12,219,392 sectors)

Go into the settings, switch to the 'Write' tab and hit the 'Defaults' button. Then select 'No' so it just resets the options on that tab. If nothing else, that'll turn off 'Fast Write' which you don't really want on anyway.

LG drives seem to use 2.4x as the lowest speed on BD-RE, don't worry about it. All my recent testing on the BH10LS30 shows it's not an issue and actually gives the LG drives a slight edge over the competition.

Ok so if we are setup ok? why are these disc not playing? is it the brand of disc? TDK I mean should have have to change anything when burning a BDR or a BDRE? I am using this with FAB and also trued stand alone. If I select the disc in my computer where all the drives are on the screen it automatically pulls up ImgBurn and then burns an ISO to my HDD if I right click and select properties it says 0 bytes used and 22gb free, if I right click it on the left pane while in tree fromat and hit properties I get the BMDV and certificate flders and 15.6 gb used?????

  13. OK we'll have to wait for someone else to come online that's more familiar with BluRay than I am, check back in later this evening or possibly in the morning and hopefully someone will be able to better figure this out.

    spinner

You can see who is online by looking at the bottom of the forums home page.

Ok will do thanks for the help!

  14. I don't do BD here, but can't you erase/format the disc before use?

?? you have to format the disc before you can use it, which takes and hour and a half to do!!! How do you change the option of format with spare areas? I want to turn this off as default is on. And is there anybody on the board that has successfully burned a BDRE movie and played it on a samsung?

  15. According to the manufacturer the player should work with a BD-RE disc, so I would look at how you made the image for one thing and also try a different disc manufacturer.

Post a copy of the burn log also.

Why didn't you allow ImgBurn to verify the burn?

I did let it verify before and there was no problem as I have been trying to figure this out all day!! Also I just popped the disc into my laptop that has a BD drive and when I pull up properties of the disc it says 0 bytes used space and 0 bytes free space, I didn't make the image any different than burning a bluray which I have done allot, this is the first time I have used BDRE media

  16. OK I am using DVDFab and Imgburn 2.5.4.0 and when I burn a BD-RE I get the message on my samsung BDP-3600 and 4600 that this disc cannot be played and then the disc ejects. Now when I burn with a BD-R it plays fine! I have ImgBurn setup the way the forum states and I have used it as a stand alone burner and also with Fab. I have formated the disc and format with spare space is selected (I don't know how to turn it off)I just cant seem to figure this out as both player play BDRE, it seems as if the disc is not finalizing or closing? It does not say it when its done! I also tried using tsmuxR and when I burned the files to the disc I did not get the this disc cannot play pop up but the opening screen and it was in slow motion...you could not watch it. So any suggestions I have posted this on the Fab forum also. I am using TDK 1-2x BD-RE and my burner is a LG BH08LS20 and the FW is up to date. Also the box says the player will burn at 2x for BD-RE but the slowest I can get it to do is 2.4x.
