Creating CUE/BIN From Audio C.D.
Ryan Paul Fialcowitz replied to Ryan Paul Fialcowitz's topic in ImgBurn Support
These sorts of emulators, to my understanding, strive for technical accuracy above all- so I thought it had a fair chance of working. But I was pretty sure it was going to be one of those things were it either worked right away or I'd make my self nuts never figuring it out. Luckily, I now have an alternative method of achieving the same goal. Thanks again for your help- I really appreciate it. -

All the disk based games are in the cue/bin format. However, the bins are labeled as tracks which is why I asked about that earlier. I'm not sure how to output a log but if I figure it out I'll let you know. -
Creating CUE/BIN From Audio C.D.

RetroArch is a fontend of a large number of emulators- all run through RetroArch. It's basically a one stop shop for everything emulation related. I'm running a Playstation game- Monster Rancher. The gimmick of this game is that you can acquire different monsters by switching out the game C.D. with various Playstation/Music C.D.'s and some can only be gotten by specific C.D.'s. So, I bought several hoping to make them into images because, for some reason, RetroArch does support loading physical content like an actual disk. When I try to load an image I've made the program crashes with a runtime error. And given that no one on their forums is responding to my thread I'm not sure I'm going to find a solution. However, it appears you can use GameShark codes, which RetroArch does support, to accomplish the same goal. I had hoped to do it the "old fashioned" way but at this point I don't see how I could get this to work if either program is even capable of doing what I'd like. So, I think I'm good for right now- this method will save me from having to hunt down a bunch of old C.D.'s on the internet which I suppose is a good thing. Lastly, I'd like to reiterate I've never had problems making images of D.V.D.'s- program works like a dream in that department and that's what I would normally use it for. I always tend to have the weird computer problems no one can figure out! I really appreciate you guys taking the time to help me out with this and I wish you both the best of luck! -
Creating CUE/BIN From Audio C.D.

Yeah, I'm right there with you. But, ultimately, I don't need to mount them in Windows- that's just for testing. I need to mount them in RetroArch- which isn't working. My hope is that I'm doing something wrong and eventually I'll figure out how to make that work. So, even if Daemon Tools did work I'm not sure that would bring me closer to a revelation. Finding an audio C.D. image that I can get to mount in RetroArch would be good though! I do, truly, appreciate all the help. -

VLC, my media player, will play every other virtual disk image I throw at, as well as every C.D. I've tried to make one of but not the resultant images. I'm thinking that's were the problem lies as VLC does not require an external mounting of the image it just loads it itself. -

So, you're thinking that the fault is with WinCDEmu? It's never been a problem before. Perhaps I should upload one of my cue/bins and see if it runs for you good folks? -

Just the corrupt image warning on load with the cue file. The ccd one mounted, but then I got similar message from Windows when I tried to access it. It seems clear to me that I'm doing something wrong as neither of you are telling me this can't be done. Is there some specific setting I need or something? -

As has been pointed out to me, Windows won't mount the cue file- I'm using WinCDEmu. Which works for everything- except the the cue files I create apparently. I primarily use IMGBurn to make iso's of D.V.D.'s and it works fine, even with WinCDEmu. ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 - Log ; Sunday, 25 March 2018, 21:38:51 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 21:15:07 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! Creating CUE/BIN From Audio C.D.
Ryan Paul Fialcowitz replied to Ryan Paul Fialcowitz's topic in ImgBurn Support
Both RetroArch & WinCDEmu both explicitly support cue/bin files. So, I just wanted to test one made by someone else to see if I was somehow doing something wrong. That said I will try making a new image in that new format and see if that changes anything. Thanks. I'll let you know how it goes. Edit Alright, I tried enabling the ccd option and when making it I selected img. In the end I got an cue, ccd & img so I think I might have done something wrong. Windows could mount the ccd but then didn't know what it was. So, progress- I guess? -

Would it be possible for you to post one of your working audio C.D. images for me to test- it might help eliminate possible problems. If not, do you know of any such resources online? I can't imagine audio C.D. images are very popular online but I'm at my wit's end on this issue. -

IMGBurn won't produce an audio C.D. image in the iso format- it'll change it to cue/bin. I created the image by just selecting Create Image From Disk- is there more to it then that? Is IMGBurn not the best solution for this task? -

I'm getting Unknown or corrupt image file! when I try to load the cue with WinCDEmu. I tried other cue's and iso's and they mounted fine. The C.D.'s I've tried play fine on their own, so what could I be doing wrong? -

I wouldn't think it's corrupt, but VLC associates the cue file format. What other reason could there be but to play bin files? Unless cue files have another use? I know it can play iso files so it doesn't seem like a stretch. -

It's a front end of a series of emulators, which in themselves should be able to run an audio C.D.- but you're right I can't be certain. What would be the best way to test whether the image is good or not? I tested the C.D. which works fine. -

RetroArch uses numbered bin files. The one created with imgburn is crashing it so I was hoping I was doing something wrong. But I will take the problem to their forum and see if I can work it out. -

Thanks. The program I need to use the images in typically uses numbered bin files. I thought that maybe the singular bin file was causing my problems. Anyway I appreciate the help. -

It’s making bin/cue files that don’t work- not even in Windows. Or are they not supposed to be able to be mounted in Windows? Is there a specific precdure that needs to be followed? Unless I’m doing something wrong it would seem to be a problem with imgburn. -
I would like to make cue/bin files from audio C.D.'s- and IMGBurn appears to do this but the resulting files won't read in either Windows or VLC. I would expect the cue file to load into either and act as an audio C.D. but it does literally nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Firstly, I want to make ISO files of some DVDs that have both video content and content that can only be accessed on a computer but every program I have tried will only copy over the audio_ts & video_ts folders. Is there some way to make an exact copy with everything on the DVD and not just the audio/video folders? If not is there some other program that can do this? Secondly, when I mount a DVD ISO in Windows 7 it launches Windows Media Player and plays the DVD. In Windows XP it just opens a folder showing the audio/video folders on the DVD. Is there a way to get Windows XP to launch and play the DVD in Windows Media Player automatically? Lastly, I've been using DVD Decrypter to get the audio/video folders and then IMGBurn to make the ISO. In IMGBurn I've been selecting Create Image File From Files/Folders and selecting the audio/video folders on the DVD, is this the correct method? And is IMGBurn needed at all? Can DVD Decrypter make the ISO on it's own? - Ryan Paul Fialcowitz
