Well I already know the "BUY this and that" solution. Just tell me how ImgBurn is burning discs without any problems, but can't read it?!?!!? This is the only option for my mainboard to support ide optical drives and it should work!

I can only enable/disable controller and enable/disable boot rom. Interesting is that I can burn disc without any problem with this configuration. PS. Eventually I can try to flash the BIOS of this Marvell controller but looks kinda risky to me and I have to create DOS boot disc.

Now I understand what you mean. I have Marvell RAID controller. I think optical drives are connected to it. Also I found some newer drivers which i will try now. Have look at my config please. My mb is Asus p5q3 deluxe p5q3del.html
