I don't have the log any more. Should I burn and verify next time I try a DL disk? Would that pose a mater of DL recording capability of my laptop's recorder?

I have been using Verbadim's DL disks with the latest version of imgburn and recently I have discovered that in these disks one file is unreadable. Actually it is my first time recording on DL disks. I suspect that it has to do with setting the layer break when recording on them. Could somebody help me on this? I have not much knowledge on it and I am not sure how to look for info on it. Is there a way to recover these unreadable files?
