Does the DVDROM say the same for that disc? Your BenQ writer is old now and the only media they really supported was the original Verbatim 2.4x stuff using the MKM-001-00 dye. So reading the text at the link it seems that the blank media I'm using is cheap & nasty, nothing more serious than that. I also looked for updated firmware for that drive but as you say, it's been around a while. Maybe just go buy a new one. I have kept that particular drive for burning audio CD's since it's so good for that. But I do use either THATS or TAIYO YUDEN media for audio whereas these blanks DVD's were all that was on the shelf at the time, probably the biggest profit margin for the retailer. Hi All, new here but not new to forums. Been trying to take a backup of a dual layer DVD-ROM and I'm getting errors regarding the address at which layer-0 ends and layer-1 starts. I have pasted some information about the source disc below and also some bits from the logfile. Basically, when I try to commence the burn of the backup copy I get a message about having a layer break size which is not divisible by 16. This prevents me from continuing unless I manually set the layer break to the next number up which can divide by 16, in this case 2,078,448. When I try a dry run in test mode this appears to work. All good. So I continue on in committed mode and it fails as below. Found one similar topic but the manual change of the layer break value appeared to work for that. All help gratefully received.
