I didn't have any normal DVDs so I went to my brother's desktop computer and it burns just fine. I think the problem is that my drive is dirty or damaged as this is laptop. Is my own driver a lost cause? Thanks for the help anyway.

No the speed is at the beginning (for the first 5 minutes) normal, and then drops to 0 kb/s. So the 10% that is burned to the disc burns normally.

Hi there, I have been trying to burn an iso image to dvd+r DL. For some reason it gets stuck every time I try to do it. It first got stuck at 2%, then at 5% and now 10%. The write rate just falls to 0 kb/s and the buffer gets stuck to 100% and the device buffer gets stuck to 1% (these figures are the same every time). I couldn't find any firmware update and it should be fine as this computer was bought in '09, also the drive should be okay for this. The discs I use are Verbatims. The first two times, I tried to use 2X speed. I simply cannot grasp why this problem persists. The dvd light is on and the abort won't work.
