Pinched a Verbatim off a friend and got a perfect burn (although I did also with a GENUINE RitekG05). Many thanks again for all your halp and assistance. P.s I might be teaching you all to suck eggs but if any of you use DVDShrink and are experiencing a slowdown a firmware update on your Dvd seems to fix it, my encoding times have dropped by about 2/3 since I did it. Having gone through the pack I have now discovered there are 3 different brands in it a very few Ritek GO5's, some infomediar20 (junk) and Gigacorp GC03( makes the infomediar look like TY). I want to post the store name but don't know if it will contravene forum rules. Many thanks to all for helping, if I'd read my logs thoroughly I would have seen the problem. Just been on the phone to the supplier of the cheap knock off junk, they were very surprised. But not so surprised they're sending me 2x50 spindles of Verbatims without asking me for more info or to return the unused discs. They were at it and got caught with their pants down. Hmmm......You just brought something to my attention, thought I was buying Ritek G03 but it looks like I've got some cheap knock-off junk. Grrrrr.......not happy. However the same discs have been burning ok using the original post over 20 and only 1 failed burn.....odd.

Hi all When I am backing up Dvd's I have always ripped to file and then burned using Dvd Decrypter or with Nero. I pretty much always get a good burn. However as more people are using and recomending ImgBurn I thought I should give it a try. I took a previously backed up Dvd (to save mucking about with compresssion) and ripped to iso. then burned to a +RW disc using ImgBurn. Great, no problem. So then I try it with one of my -R discs and it fails, and again, and again. Yet when I use the same discs and do it the way I mentioned previously it's consistently good. I have used the same discs for ages with no problems with my burner.....just when using ImgBurn Does anyone know if ImgBurn is media sensitive or have any other suggestions...... Thanks Al P.s. Don't use ImgBurn is not the suggestion I was looking for but maybe the option I have to take.
