Looks like whoever made the GOT DVD's went cheap and used DVD-5's instead of lowering the disc count with DVD-9's.

There's also extra stuff on the discs, so they might have used dvd-9

There are a variety of factors that dictate how many "episodes" you can fit on an SL disc.  It depends on 1.) the running time 2.) the compression/codec used on the source file and 3.) the application you're using.  For instance, it's not unusual for ConvertXToDVD to fit 4 "1 hour" episodes on an SL without any significant video quality loss.

The 120 minute label applied to SL DVD's was for standalone DVD video recorders like Panasonic's.  And even then, you could choose higher compression rates and get 4 and 6 hours on an SL, but with significant video quality loss.  There's even a 1 hour option for even better video quality.

Thanks for that info. I'm trying to get as close to the box set disc format as possible without buying the whole set! ;) Too much $$$$

If you want DVD Video you need an authoring program like DVDStyler or DVDFlick.

Consider that SL discs can hold 120 minutes, DL discs can hold 240 minutes at standard quality.

So, if I want more than 2 episodes per disc use the DL disc?

  4. Can I create my own DVD's of Game of Thrones from MP4 files? I the first 3 seasons & half of season 4 at the moment. I'll be using single layer discs, cause that's what I have right now. Or, could I have more episodes per disc with DL discs.

All suggestions welcomed & appreciated!  :)

  5. Found a concert on YT, but it's in 3 parts. Can I burn all 3 to 1 disc?  I was able to get a 3 hour tribute concert for Chester Bennington on 1 disc, but it was a single video clip. I didn't convert any of the files, just downloaded them.

    Is it possible?

  6. I just changed both Windows & Norton Firewall settings to allow IMGBURN.  Seems to be ok now.

Thank you for your help & patience!

    :shakehands:  :worthy:

  7. What's the message in the status bar when you try to close it? The same as in your initial post? If so, what I said in my first post still stands.

Still the same message. I downloaded & installed it the same way as my other machine.

  8. I think I got everything set correctly. But it still hangs up when I try to close it. Isn't it supposed to close automatically when finished a burn? I checked everything on my laptop & it works properly on that.

  9. Sorry to bother U Lightning, but it's doing it every time I open the program. Can't find the Auto Update settings either. Also, keep seeing MAX burn speed even though I put in a setting for Verbatim discs.

Don't want to be a pain in the butt

  10. I recently got a new pc. I installed IMGBurn ok, and now I'm trying to set it up to remember my preferred media types & proper write speeds. Problem is, program won't close now!!

Status bar says -  "Terminating Program Update Thread..."

    idea's?

  11. I know you can have IMGBURN remember the write speeds for different blanks. I thought I did it correctly, but I'm still getting MAX speeds? I'm using Memorex, Verbatim & Verbatim Lightscribe disks. I clicked on the proper drop down under tools & added them to the list, but they don't burn at the desired speeds. Any help?

    :)

  12. That depends on the OS you're running - which you haven't told us, and I can't find that info for myself as you haven't posted a log. I'm sure if you search google, it'll tell you how to check these things. There's a post in the FAQ that may help too.

    oops, sorry :(

I'm using Win7, but figured out the PIO thing from a website. It's in DMA mode.  Here's a log from last burn session:

  13. Just read a previous post that is having the same issue as me, but she's gotten no response. Trying to burn on my desktop pc, and keep getting the error "Waiting for buffer to reach threshold." Can someone explain this error to me?

The log file is on my other computer. Will attach later if need, but it the same error as previous poster.

  14. I've never encountered an issue like this using IMGBURN. If someone could be kind enough to help me, I'd appreciate it :)

I love the program and have used it for months without any issue. Here is the log file:
