Ok, I managed to get hold of ONE singapore verbatim MKM-003. I inspected it and it looked perfectly clean and pure from the data side (ie: no smudges at the edge). Burned it using your settings and VOILA definately not a drive problem now i guess. Just wanted to report this here, maybe it could be of use to you. Seems like those disks with smudges or dust at the edge are useless. Thanks for all the help, and for IMGBURN, best program ever .

I will get another 2 spindles of 25 Verbatim MIS MKM-003 soon. But anyways, I just notice something quite weird. If i leave my iHas Burner with a disk inside it, 1 minute after puttin in the disk i can hear it spinning. And it keeps spinning til i take the disk out. For instance, I just came back from school, and i heard a loud noise from the burner. I opened the tray and took out the disk and the disk was actually a bit warm. As soon as I opened the tray the loud noise disappeared. Faulty drive or Firmware or Reinstall Windows? Im not really sure anymore

Ok, I just burned a Disk using discovery mode and the sector number you gave me. Now i really dont understand, is it the dvd's or the burner? I can't find any singapore verbatims in my city to make sure. But all the burns i've had with the non dusty smudgy disks at edge are perfect. Also it might be worth mentioning that these disks have a really strong bad smell. Smells like petroleum or some burnt chemical.

Ok, will do that right now. I reckon this will basically make this dvd useless, but np. I will do it, scan it and upload the results. Thanks for helping out also, is there any way i could get these disks to work? I hate to think that I will just throw them in the bin xD

yes.they are singapores ofcourse. thing is, I got these from amazon and the reviews specifically say they're good for xgd3. 92682 is the model number. it cud be the drive but then again the drive made perfect burns before. are the smudges at the edge normal.

Hey guys, this is my first post in this forum. I have just bought a spindle of 50 Verbatim MIS MKM003. I am using c4eva firmware to burn xgd3 games which need to use the edge till its outermost edge. Now, I first bought a pack of 5 Singapore verbatims, and i got PERFECT results. Thats what made me want to buy 50. However, ever single one out of the 50 has a problem around and at the layerbreak. The PI and PIF always rise to a really high number. I have tried LightningUK's method and it works perfectly throughout the disk, except at the layerbreak. When i closesly inspected the disks, i found there is a circle of smudges (dust like) at the edge. the rest of the disk is perfect. When i inspected the 5 Pack disks which were perfect, I found them to be completely clean all around. So i posted it on other forums, and many people said they have been getting good results with these smudges.However, I am really not sure. If anyone here can help me out, i would be grateful. Already wasted 15 disks and they all fail at LB and fail verify at 50% (Sometimes). I have tried a lot of settings and they all have similar issues. this burn was FHT:On, OHT: Off, SB: On, Default IMGBURN settings, and was 9th burn.
