ImgBurn Log is at bottom of this page: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-19bTF4MaM4oGsZ_mtXGCOsz6fzu7zlYGcrXJdj2mYo/edit?usp=sharing I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD4H motherboard with Windows 7 64-bit. This is a fresh installation of Windows. As far as I know ’ve installed all the motherboard drivers that are required for my PC to work correctly. Nothing has an exclamation mark in Device Manager. I have an LG BH10LS38.AUAR Bluray drive with the latest firmware of L102. I burn a disc reading off an ISO on a single SATA II or SATA III internal hard drive. I burn several Blurays per day and at random maybe once per day once a disc has finished burning, ImgBurn will freeze or it will fail to verify at 0% and when I cancel the verification the program freezes and I have to close it in Task Manager under processes which takes ages as the PC freezes for several minutes. When I reopen ImgBurn I get a pop-up saying I/O error, the parameter is incorrect. Screenshot: http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo290/holygamer/ImgBurnParameterisincorrect_zpsfada8de4.png I then notice that the drive doesn't show up as a destination in ImgBurn. Also that drive shows in My Computer but I can't do anything with it or it will not show in My Computer at all.. When a drive freezes I need to restart Windows for it to be seen by Windows again. So far I only get the problem when verifying a disc and it always fails verification at 0% yet the disc still plays fine. I have AnyDVD installed but I made sure it wasn’t running (I clicked exit on the tray icon) so it can’t be that which is causing the problem. In Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers I see the following listed: Intel® 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller. I’m using the same discs and drive I’ve always used on my previous motherboard and I never had a problem on that so I don’t know what’s causing the problem on my new motherboard. I’m also using the same ImgBurn version: 2.5.8.0 and the default settings - I just changed the burn speed to 4x (max speed my discs support). Is there some particular driver I need (apart from the Bluray drive firmware) to allow the drives to work properly? Should I install SPTD from http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads? My motherboard DVD came with the following drivers (I’ve only mentioned the ones that might be relevant): Intel Management Engine Software INF Update Utility Marvell GSATA AHCI Driver Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver I’ve installed all the above drivers.

OK thanks. What drivers are you referring to? I've also got an issue where the verify speed goes between 2 - 4x. It's worse when I'm burning two discs at once - it can go below 1x. It's perfectly cable of burning 2 discs at 4x but it randomly verifies at a slower speed. Is that due to drivers or the Bluray drive firmware? I've got an LG BH10LS38 with the BH10LS38_L102.zip firmware released on 13th September 2013. I have a single layer Bluray ISO I made which has several titles on it. I've burned lots of copies of it before with the verify option and they play fine on my Bluray player and other people's. I always use the verify option. However maybe 5-10% of the time when I'm burning a disc it will fail the verify process as soon as the verify process starts. Yet the disc still plays in my Bluray player - the menus and all titles play without problem. Why doesn't the verify function work properly? Why does it fail verification when there's nothing wrong with the disc and the disc plays fine? I'm using ImgBurn 2.5.8.0. I have Windows 7 64-bit. I have an LG BH10LS38 drive with the latest firmware. I'm using CMC AAA discs. I've burned thousands of those discs. When I didn't use the verify process I maybe only got 1 out of 100 failed burns. Now that I use the verify process I get up to 10% failed burns! I've attached my log file below: ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 - Log ; Monday, 28 October 2013, 17:54:56 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 19:07:37 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! Verified BD-R disc doesn't play some titles on the disc
holygamer replied to holygamer's topic in ImgBurn Support
I wouldn't know which log is the correct one because I burned the disc over a week ago. My friend played the disc in his PS3, the same model that I have. I've also burned lots of that disc before and they played fine on PS3s. So I can't understand what the problem is since they were all verified discs. It's not a faulty PS3 either. They are Bluray compliant 720 x 480i h264 videos with AC3 128 Kbps audio. I see logs in the help menu but whenever I try to fine the one I want like the last disc burned, it's not there! When does a log get saved for the last disc burned? -
I have a single layer Bluray ISO I made which has several titles on it. I've burned lots of copies of it before with the verify option and they play fine on my Bluray player and other people's. I burned another copy with the verify option and sent it to my friend. He said some titles don't play. How is that possible when I used the verify option? What is the point in me using the verify option (which takes twice as long to burn) if it still doesn't guarantee that the disc will play? I'm using ImgBurn 2.5.8.0. I have Windows 7 64-bit. I have an LG BH10LS38 drive with the latest firmware. I don't have any logs to give you as this was several days ago.

OK instead of USB 3.0 I just dismantled the drive and put the actual hard drive inside my PC as a SATA III hard drive. My motherboard supports SATA III. Some Bluray ISOs are on the drive. I'm trying to burn 2 different images from that hard drive onto 2 discs at the same time so I have 2 instances of ImgBurn open. At random ImgBurn is burning both discs at 1x instead of 4x. I could be burning at the correct speed for days then at random it burns at 1x. Why would that happen? I'm not doing anything else on my PC apart from burning those discs yet it's burning at 1x. Yet most of the time when I AM doing other things I can get 4x! My PC is working fine and I've got all drivers and firmware installed correctly. I was also wondering how the verify is going to 4.6x when I set the AWS speed to 4x?

I get that message when burning 2 Bluray discs at once reading off an internal Sata III Hard Drive. Nothing else on my PC is accessing that hard drive apart from ImgBurn. On a USB 3.0 Hard Drive I have some video files. On that drive I do things like muxing files and while that happens the burn speed drops to zero and I get the message. I have been doing this for several months without problems yet today I get the message. Any idea why? I've got an 8 core CPU and 8GB Ram.

I burned thousands of single layer Blurays for people from ISOs. I don't use the verify option. No error messages popped up in ImgBurn. Before mailing discs I always test that the last disc I burned for that person plays in my Bluray player before sending them the discs. I do that because one time someone told me that none of the discs I sent them worked. I then found out it was because my drive was faulty yet ImgBurn didn't report and burn errors. So by checking that the last disc plays, I know that my drive isn't faulty. Anyway, out of the thousands of discs I've sent people, one guy told me that one of the discs didn't play for him. He could see the menu but when he tried to select an episode past a certain date, it wouldn't let him. I just burned him another disc as I did before and it worked that time. He used the same Bluray player to play it as he did before. I burned the same brand of discs as I did before and burned at the same speed. So what I don't understand is, why would that orignal disc not play if ImgBurn reported no burn errors and my drive isn't faulty? Is it possible to get faulty discs from a retailer without ImgBurn reporting burn errors? (as it usually reports an error if a disc is faulty).

I have ImgBurnPortable_2.5.7.0. It's been working fine for several months. However today when I try to start the program I get this message "Another instance of ImgBurn Portable is currently closing. Please wait for it to finish before launching it again". However there aren't any ImgBurn windows open and I can't see any ImgBurn processes in task manager. So I can't load ImgBurn portable any more. I still have an installation of 2.5.7.0 and that works fine. On a seperate issue, it seems that if you shutdown your PC without first closing ImgBurn (even though ImgBurn isn't currently burning anything) then the next time you start your PC you get a message saying something like you didn't shut down ImgBurn correctly and it needs to restart. However nothing happens and you need to manually load the program. This is really annoying. Is there any way to fix that?

I/O Error on New Pioneer BDR-207EBK drive with current firmware
holygamer replied to holygamer's topic in ImgBurn Support
Is that all the problem is then - it won't burn LGEBRA-S04-000 media? I also have an LG drive and the media works fine on that. I just assumed that all media would work. -

Burning a Dual Layer DVD of a Single Layer Image
holygamer replied to holygamer's topic in ImgBurn Support
How would I build a Double layer disc image? -
I don't have any single layer discs, only dual layer discs. I created an image of a single layer DVD movie but when I tried to burn the image with ImgBurn to a dual layer disc I got a message like this: this image has not been mastered correctly for burning onto a double layer (OTP track path) disc. None of the cells meet the 'DVD-video specification' criteria for a potential layer break position However I just clicked ignore and burned it anyway and it played fine in my crappy TV/DVD combo but I'm just wondering if it's safe to ignore that message?

What was the point of looking at the family tree? Did you want a screenshot of it? Here it is: http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo290/holygamer/ImgBurnFamilyTree.png When the program "freezed" I went to View, Log. Nothing shows in the log. It says something like starting to write disc then it shows that I initiated a stop command. I have an Asus P8Z77-V Pro motherboard. I've installed all the latest drivers from the Asus website but I still have the problem. I don't know what else to do.
-
I could write several batches of single layer Bluray discs then at random the program freezes at 0% when writing the lead-in. It doesn't really freeze, the timer just keeps going and nothing happens. If I click on Stop, nothing happens and the timer keeps going. I could restart my PC and the drive would work again but that would cause me to lose my work - I'm encoding videos at the same time. I have a Core i7 2700K (8 core at 4.2 Ghz) and 8GB DDR3 RAM. So I try to delete the process in Task Manager but it won't delete! I'm forced to restart my PC to get the drive working again. Nothing was written to the disc and I can start another burn and it burns fine. The logs don't even show anything since Nov 26 which I don't understand as I've had several successful burns since then. Save logs is enabled. I use MediaRange 4x Bluray disc (ID is LGEBRA-S04-000). I have the LG Bluray BH10LS38.AUAR 10x Internal BD-RW Retail Kit. I've been using it regularly for 6 months. It worked fine in my Vista 32-bit PC with the same vesion of ImgBurn with the same brand of discs. I have the latest drive firmware installed.

I would like to have 4 instances of ImgBurn open and burn 4 seperate images from a single USB 3.0 Hard Drive onto 4 Bluray Discs at the same time. I currently burn at 4x. Would I need a special motherboard with SATA III to do that or has that got nothing to do with burning discs from a USB 3.0 Hard Drive?
-
That all very well and good but like I say verifying doubles the burn time so that isn't really an option for most people who burn a lot of discs every day. Instead I will just test the last disc plays in a Bluray player from every batch I burn. The log file only shows logs from 4th July onwards. Why doesn't it show logs from further back? Also it doesn't seem to log anything until you close the program. Also I've just got half-way burning a Bluray and it failed for no reason. I set the max write speed to 4x to match the 4x supported by the disc. Why did the write fail? Here's the log: I 19:55:42 Operation Started! What do you mean by "error out"? It's unrealistic to expect people to do verify the disc as it doubles the burn time. There's normally no need to do it anyway as ImgBurn displays an error message if there's a problem buring the disc such as if you try to burn faster than the disc supports. I never had the log displayed while burning as it never displayed anything helpful in the past. I'm looking at the log file location just now but I only see a log for the past couple of days. Why doesn't it show more logs from previous days?
-
I thought ImgBurn was supposed to display a message if there was a problem during the burning process? However I sent someone some discs without testing they played first and they told me that the discs didn't play on their Bluray player. Sure enough I burned another disc and tested it and it didn't play. I took my PC to a repair shop and they said the drive had died so why didn't ImgBurn say anything when it was burning the discs?
-
Can you please tell me specifically where I should go to find that information? The sound editing has the disk cache on my internal hard drive. The disc being burned is read from an ISO on my USB 2.0 drive. So they's both using a different hard drive so I don't understand why I'm getting this "occupied message".
-
I backup my data quite often. Burning 1 disc at a time is time consuming so I would like to burn at least 2 separate images to 2 Bluray discs at the same time. So I would have 2 instances of ImgBurn open at the same time. Is this possible? If so, what is the maximum amount of Bluray discs I could burn at once at the full speed (4x) of my media if the ISO's are being read from a USB 2.0 drive? What about if I used a USB 3.0 drive?

I have: Vista 32 Bit Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (2GHz) 4 GB Ram ImgBurn works fine when I'm not doing anything else and I can get the full 4x on my Blurays. However if I do any CPU intensive task (if that's the correct term) such as performing noise reduction on an audio file or when I mux a file with TS Muxer the speed drops to any number below 4x and can drop to 0. It just seems to be random what speed it decides to give me. I performed noise reduction on a file which takes several minutes. The first few minutes the speed dropped between 2-0. The last few minutes the speed went up to 4x again! If it drops to 0 it says "Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level Current 1,300, Target: 1,000". The current number jumps between 1,000 and 2,000 every split second. The speed is always above 1,000 so why does it say that? I'm burning from an image on my USB 2.0 drive and there's nothing else that's using the drive so why does it say that? I notice as well that before I get the above message, the buffer constantly empties and fills back up and it says "Waiting for buffers to recover" When Muxing a file and burning at the same time - on Task Manager my CPU usage doesn't go above 50% and the memory used is below 3GB. I got 3.5x then when the muxing was at about 60% complete I got 0x - it just seems to be random. When editing an audio file the CPU usage is between 95%-100% but it doesn't slow my PC down and I can still do other stuff such as browse the web without problem. I have a dual core so I didn't think performing 2 tasks such as editing an audio file and burning at the same time would be a problem. I'm sure I read an article somewhere that said you don't need much power to burn a disc these days and you can multitask without problems. ImBurn is only taking up about 50K of memory. Can anyone shed some light on all of this? Do I need a quad-core to get full speed when multi-tasking? Here's a log from one of those sessions. I 04:25:07 Operation Started!
