thanks for the answer, so the control CD error is the drives inability to use the media correctly? edit: seems to work in 4x mode, @ 13% right now... thanks again.. might wanna add that to the FAQ, "try burning at slower speeds" dont think i saw that

bought me a SONY/NEC Optiarc 5300S the other day, connected via SATA directly to the MB the problem is i cant burn BD-r DL media, tried 2 times same error. BD-R (PHILIP-R04-000). & BD-RE (RITEK-BW1-001) works fine MEDIA: Mediarange BD-R DL (CMCMAG-DI6-000) on mediarange's compability chart it says the Optiarc 5300S should burn that media.
