That's a relief, at least I know the hard drive is ok. I never would of known where to begin on this problem had it not been for your help Lightning UK thank you so much!

The error check said it found a few errors and they were fixed. I ran a new disk and everything looked great it got further in the process than it had before. I noticed the USB cable seemed a bit loose even though it was powering on ok so I switched cables and I'm running the error check right now....I'll update the results when it's done. Thanks again!

Thanks for getting back so quickly. No it's an external hard drive (WD). That's what I have the files stored on then I transfer them to a DVD. So you think it's damaged maybe? Look in to a new hard drive I guess? Thanks again for your time!

Also yes I am aware that the discs I'm using are probably rubbish but like I've said I just started getting this error and I've used these discs before with out any isues.
