  1. Thanks for the reply! Is it possible to load custom firmware? There's no change log for D500 vs D300 so not sure if updating will give additional read speeds?

  3. Hi guys, I've tried searching and looking at the guide section but nothing mentions this specifically. Is is possible to force burn a dvd at 1x? I'd like to do this however Imgburn is showing supported burning speeds: 4x 8x & 16x, yet a the same time I see I can select from AWS, MAX, 1x, 2x all the way up to 56x in the burn settings. If I select 1x here, what will happen? WIll it attempt writing at 1x, or will it burn at the slowest possible speed, or will it just burn at the default speed? Also, I noticed it said the drive is on firmware D300, and D500 is available for it should I update to it, or should I not touch what isn't broken? Thanks for your help!
