I swapped it for a Samsung external writer this morning and it has wrote to both the Tdk and Verbatim discs. Problem solved.

Thanks for the reply. I thought the drive could be faulty also, I will change them over tomorrow and post an update. Thanks again.

Hi all, I purchased a brand new Asus Bw-16D1HT Blu-ray burner. There is no new firmware update available, I have tried TDK BD-R and Verbatim BD-R 25GB Discs. Both chuck out the same error. Failed to write sectors 0-31. Here's the log.
